Lease Signing FAQ
2-9-11 11-10-10 "Welcome to the HIGHTOWER/WAMRA CONSOLIDATED COALTION (H.W.C.C.). We are a coalition with a mission to protect the mineral rights of our members by negotiating the best possible deal and lease." This is what we are all about and have finally reached our goal with the help of many volunteers and our attorney, Mark Nastri, patiently holding our hand through the process. Since around October 15th many of the homeowners in the East Phase have received payment through their banks of our Lease Signing Bonus. If you signed a lease in June and have not received your money, call the bank to inquire about the payment. A draft differs from a check as it is collected by the bank on your behalf through their collection department.
The timing of your payment depends on several things:
On the date the draft is due, your bank will request your payment. The Bank of Oklahoma on behalf of Chesapeake will US Mail a cashier's check made out to your bank, then your bank will deposit into your account. (This last part can take from 3 to 5 days.) The procedure is the same for all banks, but some have more delays than others and good customer service may be lacking. If you do not get an answer from your bank collection department by a phone call, take a copy of the draft and a receipt if you have one to the bank. Ask to see an officer and it is very likely, the bank officer, will get you an answer for you. Please remember your neighbors in the West Phase still negotiating and try to answer some of their questions, if possible. p> 10-11-10 Draft checks will begin clearing within 90 business days ( doesn't include weekends and holidays) of your deposit. To check on your lease status, please go to the Texas Railroad Commission website and follow these directions (Thank you, Faith for these excellent instructions!!!): 1) Go to www.rrc.state.tx.us 2) From the menu on the left select: FORMS MAPS PUBLICATIONS - from the drop down menu select MAPS 3) Select the 10th item down the list Public GIS Map Viewer 4) The page this brings up has assorted information (On the upper right is a menu for related links) The first item will take you to the GIS Map Viewer. (The second item is a GIS Map Viewer Help section) 5) The right side of the Texas map is a blue sections which you use to select various options - it gets a little trickier, so you may need to take a few minutes to get what you want.
6) 7) Next put in wellbore API Number (439 35406 click on the little mark( >). 8) This will bring up our wellsite 4e9 35406). For Some reason the number is not on the well. I think this is just an error on the website. 9) When you click on the well, a small box with GSI Wellbore attributes will open up. Click on the lower right Drilling Permits. 10) The page that comes up will be the W-1 search results. There is just one line on this page right now. Click on the lease name (Hightower). 11) Go to the bottom of the page and attachments are listed, the second attachment is marked P-12. Click on this file and on my computer it will download the file and just save and open. From here you can go any where you like and look around. 8-16-10 Drafts will clear within 90 business days from the date they were deposited.
6-30-10: The drafts should begin clearing in a few weeks. According to your bank and account type, a fee may or may not have been assessed. The drafts included a $15 draft payment which is a medium.
